UK's One Direction has one direction- up.

One direction is a boy band formed in the United Kingdom.
This band consists of five boys with the names of Zayn Malik being 19, Liam Payne being 19,Harry Styles being 18, Niall Horan being 19, and Louis Tomlinson being 21.
There fame begins with UK's X Factor.
They first auditioned separated for the X Factor UK. The five of them were then put together into a group. This put them under the mentor of Simon Cowell, or as the five boys call him "Uncle Simon." During the UK's X Factor of 2010, they came in third place but made more than the winner with a two million pound contract with Syco Records.
This boy band is now all the rage with their first album being released in November 2011 in the UK. Because of all their popularity, they were placed on the UK Album Chart as No. 2, and in UK Single Charts as No. 1 with the song "What Makes You Beautiful."
Here in America, boy bands seem to come and go. One can only wonder how long One Direction will last or if they are indeed the next "Beetles." Under the watchful and protective eye of Simon Cowell, I am sure this band will go far with their perky, charming, and musical talent.
Their videos portray them as normal young men having fun which makes them more relatable to the average teen and many others.
