Happy 200 th Birthday Mr.Dickens.

As a child we were made to read the books by Charles Dickens. Great Expectations and Christmas carol to name but a few. Still been read today by many of us and many of them made into movies. I wonder how the writer would feel seeing his stories on the big screens, so to speak. I wonder if he ever realized how much of an impact his writings would have on children and adults in the year 2012. If he ever imagined that his stories would be read in schools, colleges and that a Prince would be there to pay tribute to him on his Birthday February 7th at Westminster Abbey where he is buried.
Tributes were also made in his birth place Portsmouth in Hampshire. His relatives were present at the ceremony in Westminster Abbey, there were two hundred of his relatives there this was the largest gathering of his descendants.Rochester Kent also celebrated his Birthday, a place which he loved.Even google honored this writer.

I think we should take note of this writer and consider what mark we may well leave behind.
I am thankful that Dickens wrote such stories and that I have been blessed to read many of them.
So in this coming year if you have not read a Dickens book, go be educated and learn about a man,his words ring true to us today. Like Christmas Carol.
Happy Birthday Mr. Dickens
wishing you lots of Tasty English Delights
There's always room for one more.
