My memory lane of Norwich

I guess I did not take many photos when I was a child. So here we go sharing some from my childhood and days spent in Norwich. My brother truly loved making things. I do remember that doll. I remember how much I loved that dress. Remember the rickety shed and it's a knock out games in our garden. My brother's conker fights , and children trying to get conkers from our trees. Least I forget all those walnuts that I found in a shed at the top of the garden such a scary place full of cobwebs I doubt if anyone had dare go in there for years. Going for walks and taking jelly in my pack lunch. That was not so cool. Mum making jam for the first time and my dad trying to kill the moss in our garden not so cool, the dog got sick and there was a big patch of brown where the moss was. Issue was the garden was full of moss and Dad should not have fought with it.
So enjoy my memory lane.

My Norwich come and visit with me.

Norwich. I lived there twice once when I was five and then again at 7-8. To this day I love the city. It has architecture from modern to old. The Victorian train station where we would meet my dad from the train and the station where in the summer where we all get on the train and head to the beach in Cromer. I remember seeing the small holdings and the houses all in a row and then all the fields, from that train window. As I sit here I see the very places that I saw as a child. The bridges and the smell at the station.
Oh such good memories. We would walk through Norwich and window shop sometimes late at night, I can smell the damp weather and feel the chill on my coat. Least we forget going to Debenhams at Christmas to see Father Christmas. Bonds was the place for school uniforms and we got all three of ours there. Clarks the shoe shop that we had our feet measured twice a year for school shoes directly opposite the Post office. Oh and our love as children Langleys the ultimate toy store which had trains galore and my brother loved them all. The market was amazing loved hearing the marketers call and the wonderful colours of the market stalls.
I loved it all.
This is my Norwich more memories to follow

I absolutely love the rain.

I absolutely love rain. Coming from England that might sound rather insane. But I do, it makes me smile. So I am posting pictures of England in the rain today. I absolutely miss it.

Norwich

At age five we moved to Norwich Norfolk. I remember big electrical cable spools. I am not sure what they are called and my sister, brother and I playing on them. My sister had a rabbit she named him Harvey Half Penny and he slept in our room. I went to my first school Lonsdale, an all girls school.
Gray capes with purple on the inside, is what we wore in the winter. I ate my first toffee apple here, experienced my first kiss from Mathew Alan and experienced my first fire practice. This was very bad I cried and was told that my sister who was seven years older than me was not crying, my thought at that time was "well she has not left her doll in her class". I remember my sister sewing a gingham apron, it was purple. I also learnt that making noise was not breaking a window. We saved hedgehogs in the winter and my brother made model airplanes. It was a time I look back with some fond memories. I cried at school and my teacher sat me on her lap and played the piano that was in the classroom. Her and the class sang Jesus Loves me , as I sat on her lap. To this day it is one of my favorite songs and I love the memory to pieces. I hold it dear to my heart. As is the day it snowed and we were allowed to open those big class windows and catch snowflakes with our hands and tongues and eat it.
So this is the first walk down memory lane in Norwich, hope your stroll down the road with me another day.

Fairies Magic

Summer's sun shines fade away.
Here comes the autumn breeze to chase leaves all day.
Sunglasses and swimsuits must be changed, as summer is no longer allowed to stay.
Into warm woolly mittens and colorful scarves, fall is calling us in a magical way.
Watching the fairies on their magic carpet leaves outside
We join them in the fresh air and the little sunshine.
Trees dancing as they sway,
In comes the leaves to join in their play.
Children's laughter as they jump into piles of leaves,
As we watch the squirrel thieves.
Storing up nuts for the winter, they must do.
Or else, there will be too few.
Getting sleepy and toasty, as the day's sunshine ends too soon.
We quickly roast marshmallows and look up at the moon.
Snuggled with blankets galore,
We think of how wonderful outside is and how we ever were so bored.
