Hats of to us Brits on a wedding day to remember.

Well we got up early and yes I had many comments did you watch the wedding, are you really British. Yep and proud of it.

As we celebrated the Royal wedding by making a Jamie Oliver meal.

There is a few things to ponder about us Brits who on earth wears those hats? I guess we all found out yesterday. I am not a hat person I wear an old faithful one, in the winter, and I love straw hats. However after seeing yesterdays display I will have to say I will keep to my say maybe up $20 hat specials or perhaps I will do as Prime Minister David Cameron's wife did by wearing no hat at all.

Here to you remind you are our favorite picks.

What will you be Eating on the Royal wedding Day 2011

As many people get ready to celebrate the marriage of Will and Kate I ask you the daunting question what will be on your plate on April 29th 2011, to celebrate this event.
As many journalist flood the British pubs and many street parties are had with cake and Cornish pasties been eaten, never forgetting the mad hatter's tea party from Alice in Wonderland. Lets think back to some good old meals from the Motherland.
Bubble and squeak
Mushy peas and fish and chips.
Shepherds pie
Marinas wonderful home cooked meals Love them everyone.
Yuck liver my mum said it was good for me I am still not convinced.
British scones and jam
Strawberries and cream
Lets not forget the old butty sandwich yes Harry will probably be giving this at his party bash for his brother.
From champagne to fizzy drinks whatever you are having to make a toast to this happy couple.
One thing is for sure "Don't forget to put the kettle on Mum"

Royal wedding count down.

Only in England would you see many camped out already to see the Royal wedding. Many have camped out for the Harrods sales but to see our future King and Queen get married what a show. I remember well the day Princess Diane and Prince Charles got married, watching her go down the aisle and then her life was never the same again. I guess many of us can say that.

Many Brits will celebrate this wedding in Pubs decorated with bunting and ribbons, street parties and such.

Here below is some useful information:

BBC America will be showing the Royal without yes no breaks so if you are lucky enough to get that channel I suggest you tune.

Children in the Uk will have no school yeah lets make it world wide.

1,900 guests at Westminster Abbey: 1,000 will be friends and family; 50 will be members of the Royal family but not Sarah Ferguson; 40 foreign royals; 200 members of Parliament, Government, and diplomatic corps; 80 charity workers and beneficiaries; 30 senior defense officials; 60 Governors-General and Common-wealth prime minister.

Ellen Degeneres: With friends and hangers-on vying for an invite to what's to be sure the wedding of the year, the beloved talk show queen has a legitimate claim for an invitation: She's related to Kate Middleton! Sure, they are distant cousins – 15th! – but family is family, so says The New England Historic Genealogical Society, who traced their ties.

Snoop Dog is expected to perform at the stag party that Prince Harry will likely host.

Kate will spend her last four nights of freedom at the five-star Goring Hotel.

CNN sent 400 news reporters while Japan sent only 50 to the royal wedding.

Well, my advice is to get the kettle on and enjoy the show.

Royal wedding funnies

As the Royal wedding approaches I could not help but have a laugh or two at T-mobiles advert that my friend from England sent me. This is true British humor at it's best. So without further do have a dance or two and a cup of tea on us Brits as you get to see how British people like to have a joke or two. Go to this link and share in Kate and William's house of love: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kav0FEhtLug

From stamps, coins, to refridgerators and cups, we Brits like to celebrate the royals. Making sure that the couples stay together, they are both on one side of the refridgerator door never to be parted. Then Americans take it up a notch by their royal pizza (I wonder if this will be served to the royal guests this Friday. Put in your order.)

Easter blessings 2011

Today is Easter and in England I would be enjoying an English roast, instead I am of to a friends house. Today as we take a few moments to remember Christ raising from the dead I encourage you to help other people. There are many lonely people who would love some kindness make a cake, go for a walk, draw a picture do something to bless a person going through a trial.
You will find so much blessing in that.
From my home to yours and you Happy Easter.

Victoria Sponge oops cake.

Ok for the records when making a victoria sponge cake watch the temperature. I cooked 2 for mothers day both burnt and did not cook in the middle. Ouch. But even in the making of a cake we barely ate I had a laugh and enjoyed the time with my daughter.
So as spring goes up and down with it's temperatures take the time to laugh a bit, try new recipes and try new things.

You might find something new that you can do and enjoy.
